The Warwick Chamber of Commerce Inc celebrated Queensland Small Business Week with the launch of the local 2018 Business Excellence Awards, on Friday 1stJune.
Chamber President Julia Keogh said that the “Business Excellence Awards (BEA) team had been meeting regularly to plan the 2018 local business event of the year. Once again, the Awards night was held at the historic Warwick Town Hall, on the 8thof September, with the BlueBird Kitchen and Bar providing the three course, specially designed menu. We were thrilled to be able to showcase our talented local businesses including DD Event Party Hire who transformed the interior of the Town Hall and C & K Photography, who took formal and informal pics on the night, to capture the essence of this year’s Rock’n’Roll theme Shake It Up”.
Ms Keogh says “when Rock’n’Roll burst onto the music industry in the late ’40s and early ’50s, it was driven by technology: the first electric guitar, the production of the 12 inch long phonograph record and the transistor radio; popular culture and was viewed as a disruptive influence. Since 1995, the term ‘disruptive innovation’ has been used to describe often very small businesses who have successfully focused on addressing the unmet needs of customers, with a strong focus on the use of technology, worldwide shared cultural norms and communication capabilities which have broken down distance and time barriers.
The Warwick Chamber of Commerce Inc Executive are committed to shaking things up a little, to enable us to provide representation on a local, state and national level, supporting initiatives that recognise and enhance our regional economy, by providing robust support to local businesses and the community sector. The Business Excellence Awards are one way for the Chamber to showcase a range of local businesses working in:
in addition to Awards for Best New Business, the prestigious Warwick Chamber of Commerce Inc Platinum and Business of the Year Awards.
Ms Keogh said, “In keeping with the rock n roll music theme, the ‘Top Ten’ sponsors for the Awards Night were BEST Employment, Coles, Condamine Medical Centre, Telstra Store Warwick, SDRC, Steele’s Bakery, DD Event and Party Hire, Local Tickets and the Warwick Daily News. The support of our sponsors to recognise and celebrate outstanding local businesses is greatly appreciated, and we had a fantastic night out coming together on 8thSeptember”.
